Periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) is a neurological disorder characterized by intermittent, stereo-typical leg movements that occur throughout the night, frequently interrupting sleep. It is often associated with RLS but is not absolutely. Certain medications have been found to be effective in treating PLMD and it is sometimes associated with other medical conditions.
